  • Bins | Bins and recycling are managed by Powys County Council. A small number of Town Centre waste bins are managed by the Town Council, to report an issue or have a query related to at Town Council waste bin, please contact enquiries@newtown.org.uk
  • BMX Pump Track (see “Green Spaces /Open Newtown”)
  • Bunting | The Town Council manages the bunting on Broad Street and High Street. If you have any queries or to report an issue with the Town Centre bunting, please contact enquiries@newtown.org.uk
  • CCTV – the town council uses CCTV to protect assets for the town at the Town Centre Playpark, St Mary’s Church and the Gravel Carpark Toilets
  • Christmas Lights | The Town Council manage the Christmas Lights around the Town Centre. If you have any queries or to report an issue with the Christmas Lights, please contact enquiries@newtown.org.uk

  • Green Spaces | Open Newtown maintain the large green public spaces in Newtown through a Service Level Agreement with the Town Council, this includes grass and essential tree maintenance, waste management, managing sports / recreation areas, along with areas of biodiversity. They manage the Town Hall grounds, Dolerw Park, Trehafren Fields, Trehafren Hill, Vaynor Fields and public land between Maesydail and Mochdre Industrial Estate, approximately 130 acres of green space and some of the riverbank. If you have any queries or to report an issue with the green spaces, please submit a request here: Feedback – Open Newtown
  • Heritage trail | There is something for everyone on this Heritage Trail through the ages, enjoy at your own pace and discover even more interesting facts by exploring the links provided on each plaque.  You can download the map and directions for the walk here.   • Public toilets (Back Lane & Gravel car parks) | There are two Public Conveniences within the Town Centre. One in the Gravel car park, the second is in Back Lane car park. The toilets both include ladies, gents, disabled (accessible with a radar key) and baby change units. The toilets are open from 7am until 7pm daily. Disabled toilet open 24 hours with a radar key.   • Public Transport | Newtown’s public transport is managed by Powys County Council.

  • Tourist Information Centre | The Tourist Information Centre provides a service for local visitors and those from further afield who are visiting the local area. The opening hours are Monday – Friday 11-3pm.
  • Tuesday Market | The Tuesday Market is held every Tuesday from 7am – 3pm on Broad Street and High Street, Newtown, Powys has a range of traders including Fruit and Veg, Fresh Fish, Butchers, Flowers, Take away food, Jewellery, Clothing. Anyone who is looking to start trading at Newtown Market, can email enquiries@newtown.org.uk
  • Twinning: French twin town Les Herbiers | Newtown Twinning – The Home of Newtown Twinning avec    Les Herbiers
  • Town Clock | The Town Council manages mechanism and bells within the Town Clock. In 1900 Newtown was gifted the Clock and Bells in the tower by Sarah Brisco. If you have any queries or to report an issue with the Town Clock, please contact enquiries@newtown.org.uk
