We’re thrilled to announce a major milestone in delivering your Place Plan “Our Town, Our Plan” – the successful award via the county council, of £83,000 from the Pride in Place Impact Fund (PIPIF).
This funding allows us to move forward with a set of carefully chosen projects that reflect the priorities of your community and aim to enhance the everyday experience of your town.
What Will the Funding Deliver?
The projects funded through this award focus on accessibility, appearance and inclusivity – helping to create a place that people feel proud of.
Supporting young people
A new teen shelter and seating area (£30,000) will provide a safe, welcoming space for young people to meet and spend time together.
Improving the visitor experience
With £20,000 allocated to tourist interpretation boards and signage, we’ll make it easier for visitors to explore and appreciate what the town has to offer, from history to local highlights.
Enhancing the town centre environment
Investment in planters (£20,000) will introduce more greenery and improve the visual appeal of key spaces, contributing to a more attractive and enjoyable town centre.
Creating a strong sense of arrival
New street-banners (£13,000) at all five main road entry points will provide a warm welcome and reinforce the town’s unique identity.
A Collective Achievement
Securing the full funding amount reflects the strength of the vision outlined in the community’s own Place Plan and the commitment to delivering meaningful improvements so thank you all who contributed to it.
This is more than just physical change – it’s about fostering civic pride, supporting community wellbeing, and making the town a place where people want to be.
