The Mayor Councillor Margaret Lewington and Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council would like to invite the people of our town and community to come together for the Mayor’s Civic Service on Sunday, 27th September 2026 at 11.00am at All Saints Church, Newtown.
The Civic Service is an important occasion in the civic calendar, but above all, it is an opportunity for the people of Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn to come together as one community.
The mayor would like to extend a warm invitation to residents, community groups, local organisations, businesses, voluntary organisations and everyone who has a connection with our town to attend.
The service will provide an opportunity to reflect on the wonderful community we have, recognise the contribution made by so many people, and celebrate the spirit, history and future of Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn.
A message from your Mayor
I would like to invite everyone in Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn to join us for this year’s Civic Service.
I want this Civic Service to be about bringing our community together. Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn is a town with a tremendous spirit, and that spirit comes from the people who live here, work here and give their time to support others.
Whether you have lived here all your life or have recently made Newtown your home, I would love you to join us. This is an opportunity to put aside our everyday lives for a little while, come together as a community and celebrate what makes our town such a special place.
Everyone is welcome, and I very much hope people will come along and share in this important civic occasion.
